Equine Therapy
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to foster the self-worth and confidence of our local youth community through meaningful interactions and experiences with equine companions.
Referral Process:
Students are referred to equine therapy by school staff or external counselors for various reasons, including behavioral concerns, emotional support, environmental issues, and medical diagnoses.
Therapy Approach:
Therapy sessions involve students participating in tasks individually or collaboratively with peers, focusing on problem-solving skills and teamwork development. Our program emphasizes the holistic development of mental health skills alongside horsemanship abilities.
Student Involvement:
Each student is paired with a horse and assumes responsibility for grooming and tacking. Therapeutic activities encompass a diverse range of riding exercises, prioritizing the enhancement of mental health skills.
